Richmond Hill High School teachers and students faced off Wednesday at Wildcat Stadium in a flag-football game to benefit United Way of Bryan County.

Students donated more than $1,000 to support United Way programs and services in the county, according to RHHS Assistant Principal  David Tucker. Social-studies teacher Leslie Krull’s class made the highest donation, of $55.

Tucker said Richmond Hill High’s goal is to raise $12,100 for the United Way of Bryan County’s 2015 fundraising campaign, with most of it to come from faculty payroll contributions.

This was the first year of the faculty-student charity flag-football game, and school leaders hope to make it an annual event.

Though the final score wasn’t what mattered most, the students did defeat the teachers 30-22.
