ATLANTA — Six people from Richmond Hill were among more than 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees at Georgia Institute of Technology during the institute’s 252nd commencement on Dec. 16-17.

They are:

Elizabeth Balga, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering

Breanna Cota, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Kevin Forbes, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

Ryan Landers, Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering

Humberto Nieves, Master of Science in Information Security

Emily Simmons, Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.

St. Mary’s College

NOTRE DAME, IN — Saint Mary’s College named Elizabeth Reid of Richmond Hill to its dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester.

To earn academic honors at Saint Mary’s, a student must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have at least 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes, and no grades lower than a C.
