Prior to the Thanksgiving break, 36 members of the Richmond Hill Middle School Beta Club traveled to Macon for the state Beta Club convention.
More than 29 club members competed in various academic and fine-art competitions.
Students who received first-place recognition were Regan Derr for black and white photography; Caroline Infinger for color photography; and William Webb, Keegan Murphy and Joshua Gregory for their recycled-art submission.
Also, Rachel Quayle received fourth place for her submission in the essay contest.
The RHMS Living Literature group of Rachel Quayle, Dante Blevins, Bailey Pelletier, Grace Cantele, Amanda Ayers, Beth Belfield, Donovan Ross, Bronson Moore, Cayleigh Burgdorf and Jermya Johnson received fourth place.
The National Beta Club is the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. It’s website is betaclub.org.
