Registration for Early Head Start, Head Start and prekindergarten is underway at Coastal Georgia Area Community Action Authority facilities.
Families must meet eligibility requirements to take part in Early Head Start, which services infants, toddlers and pregnant women.
Children receive formula or meals in addition to health services. Pregnant women receive prenatal services and parenting training and, upon delivery, the infant is enrolled.
The closest Early Head Start programs are in Claxton, Hinesville and Riceboro.
One of the CGACAA pre-K classrooms is in Bryan County. It is part of the Georgia Pre-K program funded by lottery proceeds.
Bryan County Head Start is at 166 Bacontown Road, Pembroke, 912-654-1170.
All CGACAA educational programs support children with meals, health services and transportation. Enrolled families are also provided social services, parent-involvement activities and training opportunities.
Officials at each center will work with families to meet eligibility requirements.
