Carver names its top spellers

Carver Elementary School recently held its schoolwide spelling bee with 29 participants.

The top 10 finalists participated on Dec. 16. Fifth grade finalists were Leia Brooks, Alyssa Clay, Somaria Courtney, Enzo Okada and Michael Oquendo. Fourth grade participants were Andrew Matthews, Grant Roser, Diego Torres and Lilian Wilson.

Michael Stohl from Mrs. Newman’s homeroom placed first and Leia Brooks from Mrs. Hatala’s homeroom placed second. Stohl will participate in the countywide bee on Feb. 2. The winner of the countywide competition will participate in the district bee on Feb. 25 in Savannah.
