Students in Inga Cashon’s engineering class at Bryan County High School completed a unit on drones and Federal Aviation Administration regulations concerning their use and safety.
Students completed a drone-safety quiz online, researched drone regulations, reviewed the parts of the drone and learned key terms. Finally, they tested the drone on the football field.
Last year, Hunter Lee was the first student to fly the school’s drone.
The purchase of the drones for classroom use has showcased issues within engineering and technology, and how such technologies can be used appropriately.
