Bryan County High’s Haley Bacon was named Teacher of the Year Wednesday during a meeting of the BCHS faculty. Haley is a 2000 graduate of Bryan County High School and is in her fourth year of teaching. She was chosen after several rounds of voting by the faculty. Principal Harold Roach called Haley an outstanding young teacher and said BCHS is extremely fortunate to have her. "Ms. Bacon not only has great knowledge of her content, " he said, "but she presents the content in a way that all students can learn. She has accepted the challenge of the new Math I and the Math I support classes. Each day Ms. Bacon makes a difference in her students’ lives. She sets her classroom expectation high and pushes the students to reach their full potential."
