BUFORD — Buford quarterback Dayton Raiola threw four touchdown passes to lead the Wolves to a Class AAAAAA first-round playoff victory on Friday.
Torre Costin caught two touchdown passes, Dream Rashad and Brayden Watson each caught one touchdown to beat Richmond Hill 45-0.
Richmond Hill (6-5) made the 220-mile trip for its first meeting against Buford. The Wildcats managed just 109 yards of offense against a Buford defense that recorded its second shutout of the season and was top five in AAAAAA in scoring with 10.1 points allowed per game.
“They want to eat. They want that piece of the pie,” Buford head coach Bryant Appling said of his team. “They all play hard and they all run around. They do it together and that’s the best part about it. It’s not about doing something on their own and doing it alone. They do it together and help each other out. They celebrate each other when they do good things.”
Richmond Hill quarterback Gunner Mobley was 9 of 18 for 98 yards passing. Eli Grant caught four passes for 26 yards and Marquis Muhammad had three receptions for 48 yards.
