The Richmond Hill High School boys baseball team are now 2-2 for the year and have four games scheduled for this week, all at home.
This week's schedule:
* Tuesday, Feb. 17, South Effingham, 6 p.m.
* Wednesday, Feb. 18, Wayne County, 6 p.m.
* Friday, Feb. 20, Dade Christian, 5 p.m.
* Saturday, Feb. 21, Trinity Christian Academy, 11 a.m.
Last Friday, the Wildcats picked GHSA state powerhouse, Grayson High School, to shine and light up the scoreboard with 11 runs, on 14 hits.
Senior, Grant Wagner, South Georgia State College signee, had the big night, driving in 4 runs, on 2 home-runs. Gracyn Dennis had a big hit in the bottom of the 5th inning and drove in 3 runs, to break up a 5-5 tie. Catcher Bryce Smith was 3 for 4, and 2nd baseman Jax Pursley had 2 hits, scored 2 runs, and had an RBI for the Cats.
The Grayson Rams had 10 hits of their own, scoring 6 runs, and committing 3 errors, in the 11-6 loss. Deuce Smith was 3 for 4, and scored twice for the visitors.
David Willis got the start on the mound for the Wildcats, and was credited with the win. Willis pitched 4 good innings and struck out 4.
On Saturday, the Etowah Eagles landed on Wildcat field and attacked the Cats with 4 runs in the 1st inning, before we could even get the lights on.
Trevor Condon and Caden Borch led the 12-hit Eagle attack, with 3 hits each. Nate Curcio got the start and the win for Etowah, pitching 5 innings, while only allowing 2 hits, and striking out 4, and securing the 7-1 win.
Jax Pursley scored the only run for the Cats, and Noah Stone got the start on the mound.
