Morgantown, WV -- Some familiar faces turned to opponents on Sept. 4 when the Maryland Terrapins faced the West Virginia Mountaineers in their season openers.

Richmond Hill’s class of 2018 teammates Joseph Petrino (UM) and Sam James (WVU) went from teammates to rivals in their season openers.

Petrino would be on the prevailing end of the meeting with his Terps defeating James’ Mountaineers 30-24 on Saturday.

Both would represent Wildcat football well with having respectable performances.

Petrino accounted for 12 of the Terps’ 30 points with his kicking.

James led the Mountaineers in receiving yards, picking up 65 yards on five catches.

While at Richmond Hill, the duo was Region 2-6A First Team All-State recipients.

In their final year as Wildcats, they went 7-3 for Head Coach Matt LeZotte.
