Wildcats take top three events in track meet

The Richmond Hill High School track and field team claimed many top-three individual and relay-team finishes last Thursday at a meet in Screven County.

In the boys’ 3200-meter run, freshman Rakeem Littles took first with a time of 11 minutes, 29 seconds. In the 1600 run, senior Tanner Hicks was first and Will Hammesfahr was third. Samuel James was second in the 400 run and high jump. The 4x400 relay team placed third overall.

On the girls’ side, Emily Hollowell and Chloe Giorgianni placed first and third respectively in the 3200. Daryn Lane and Jackie Buelow placed second and third, respectively, in the 1600 run.

In the 800 run, the top three places went to RHHS. Rachel Hammesfahr, Nadia Gaines and Sophie Giorgianni were first, second and third. In the 400 run, Mackenzie Frei claimed second place. Kyra Williams was second place in shot put and third place in discus, and the 4x400 team placed second.
