Richmond Hill High School fell 16-14 to Effingham County on Friday night in Springfield.
It was the first loss of the season for the Wildcats, who drop to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in Region 3-AAAAA.
Effingham County(4-2, 3-0) scored in the fourth quarter and added a two-point conversion to get the win.
Richmond Hill senior running back David Katzman led the Wildcats with 116 yards and two TDs on 16 carries.
Defensive tackles Jonathon Thomas and Taylor Hayes had five tackles each to lead the defense.
Richmond Hill was flagged 12 times for 140 yards in the game.
The Wildcats play host to Ware County on Oct. 19.
