Traditionally strong RHHS soccer programs expect to shine in '14

Richmond Hill High School has long had two of the top prep soccer programs in the Coastal Empire, programs which more often than not also fare well at the state level — a level still dominated by Atlanta-area schools.
All that to say this: Expect the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats to be on the prowl for region titles and state playoffs runs in 2014.

Boys
The boys’ soccer team at Richmond Hill High School was predictable in 2013.
Predictably good.
The Wildcats went 15-4 and finished second in Region 3-AAAAA last spring, and despite a rare first-round exit from the state tournament, RHHS was again among the best in the area.
That’s likely to continue in 2014 under coach Robbie Flanders, who has an overall record of 68-29 in his six seasons at RHHS.
His take on last year?
“Good season overall, but disappointed we were put out in the first round of state for the first time as head coach at RHHS,” he said.
