The 13th annual Good Ol’ Boys-John Stevens Santa Scramble worked its Christmas magic again this year.

In all, 21 teams of golfers playing Friday on Sterling Links Golf Course raised nearly $16,000 Friday for the Bryan County Children’s Fund.

The money goes to help needy children in the county receive gifts for Christmas. It is the single largest fundraiser for the Bryan County Children’s Fund. The Bryan County News and the Good Ol’ Boys are lead sponsors.

The first place gross score team included Dallas Howell, John Howell, Jeff Kirk and Lenny Poppel. Second-place gross score went to Alex Tucker, Billy Thurman, Ashley McGlohon and Chase Pickett.

The foursome of Marvin Straw, Oscar Gatlin, Joe Bessent and Dick Brockhoff finished first in net score. Second team net score went to Craig Caywood, Larry Meyers, Gary Odom and Ron Finger.
