The road to the state Little League championship for 10- and 11-year olds will run through Richmond Hill this year.

The Little League state championship tournament gets under way with a banquet July 13 at Richmond Hill Elementary School. Team Impact weightlifter Cesar Arocha is the guest speaker.

Games begin July 14, and South Bryan Recreation Director Kay Green hopes everyone in the community gets involved.

"We would like the area businesses and residents to come out and support our Richmond Hill team as well as all of the Little League players and their families staying with us from Friday, July 13 to Friday, July 20," Green said. "It’s a great way to show the state of Georgia what a great community we live in."

Four have already signed on as Gold sponsors: Bryan Bank. Danny Bryant, Toby Roberts and the Bryan County News. Anyone interested in being a sponsor or getting involved should contact Green as soon as possible at 756-4075.
