Richmond Hill girls soccer advances to Sweet 16

The Richmond Hill girls’ soccer team defeated host Evans 2-1 Wednesday night to advance in the Class AAAAA state tournament.

The Wildcats, the third seed in Region 3-AAAAA, got goals from Hailey Rey and Grace Kiser and an assist from Makayla Nudo. Cera Schulke made three saves in goal.

“It was a tough, physical game on a very small field,” Coach Steve Kollman said. “Our girls did well to come away with a win.”

Richmond Hill, 12-4-2, plays at Dunwoody Wednesday. Game time has not been determined.

The Richmond Hill boys’ soccer team, meanwhile, saw its season end Tuesday night in a 6-1 loss at Houston County.

The Bryan County girls’ soccer team plays in the first round of the Class AA tournament tonight at 5 p.m. at East Laurens in Dublin.
