Metter topped Bryan County High School 21-6 on Friday night in Pembroke, sending the Redskins to their first loss of the season.

Damion Dixon caught a 58-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jacob White in the first quarter, but Metter led 7-6 at halftime and scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter -- including a touchdown with a minute remaining -- to seal the win.

The Redskins fall to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in Region 3A-A.

Bryan County will host Calvary Day School in Redskin Stadium Friday Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

All-Region picks for spring sports announced
RHHS Wildcats

Richmond Hill placed several players on their respective All-Region teams in Region 2-AAAAAA for tennis and soccer after all four teams made it to their respective state tournaments this spring.

In girls’ soccer, first-team selections were Grace Kiser, Ruthie Riley, Carly Vargas and Ellie Filamonczuk. Honorable mention went to Bella Martinez. Arianna Page and Lexi Merry.

For boys’ soccer, Joseph Petrino, Agboade Sobowale, Roman Alvarez, Trever Blitchington and Cristian Marquez made first team.

For girls’ tennis, Hannah Yontz, Megan Bausch and Stephanie Harter all made the second team at singles, as did the doubles team of Bailey Lopata and Caren Bausch.

For the boys, Jackson Martin was first team singles and Alec Shermer was second team singles. Zach Sewell received honorable mention.
