Lady Redskins romp in preseason matchup

Bryan County High School beat Region 3-A rival Savannah Christian 10-1 on Wednesday in a preseason contest in Springfield.
The win improved the Lady Redskins to 4-3 in exhibition games. Senior Tiffany Howard, the 2010 player of the year in Class A, got the start for BCHS and scattered two hits over 3 2/3 innings while striking out four and walking five.
Offensively, Rebecca Strickland went 2 for 3 with three RBIs wihle Howard was 2 for 3 with a double and scored three runs.
Taylor Butler and Sierra Newman each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Alana Walker also picked up a hit for the Lady Redskins and Jerri Hines added an RBI.
The Lady Redskins play at the Mill Creek Tournament in Statesboro beginning Friday. They open the 2011 season Aug. 16 at Calvary Day.
