The 2012 Premier Coastal Empire Kingfish Classic Tournament will be Aug. 17-18 at Fort McAllister Marina in Richmond Hill.

The tournament will benefit Hospice of Savannah. It is hosted by the Fort McAllister Sport Fishing Club, The Offshore Outlaws Fishing Club, Fort McAllister Marina and Fish Tales Restaurant.

The tournament will be sanctioned by the Southern Kingfish Association (SKA), the largest saltwater tournament trail in the world. Here’s what the SKA had to say about the 2012 Premier Coastal Empire Kingfish Classic Tournament, according to a press release.

"We are proud to add this tournament to the other four and know tournament fisher people are excited also," said SKA co-founder and managing partner Jack Holmes. "Georgia events came on board with us in ‘91 and most of them are still with us today. We have a lot of SKA tournament fisher people who live in this area and fought hard to get an event in their back yard. This may just be the best event in the Georgia division. We know that a lot of effort has gone into the planning. We’re really excited."

This year’s tournament has a first place prize of $10,000 cash guaranteed plus prizes, while first place in the small boat class is a 2012 AlumaCraft boat, motor and trailer package valued at $7,000. The cost to enter is $300.
