Big first inning propels Lady Redskins to 15-0 win

Bryan County High School made short work of Region 3A-A rival Savannah Country Day on Wednesday, scoring 14 runs in the first inning and going on to a 15-0 win in a contest shortened to three innings by the mercy rule.
The win improved BCHS, ranked No. 5 in the latest Class A poll, to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in the region.
Tiffany Howard and Alana Walker combined for a no-hitter, with Howard getting the start and striking out the side. Walker finished the game off, recording a strikeout in two innings.
The Lady Redskins scored their runs on eight hits. Howard was 2 for 2 with an RBI and scored two runs to lead Bryan County.
Walker, Alana Strickland and Jerri Hines had two hits and an RBI each for the Lady Redskins while Taylor Butler scored three runs.
