The public is invited to a catch-and-release bass tournament March 17 on Fort Stewart.
The event will be at Pineview Lake. Fishermen may launch at first light — about 6:30 a.m. — with weigh-in scheduled for 11 a.m.
Winners will be determined by total weight of a five-fish maximum. Cash prizes — based on the number of participants — will be awarded for first through fifth places, largest fish and in a youth category.
Early-bird registration, which runs through Thursday, is $15 for active-duty soldiers, retirees, family members and Army civilians and all youth ages 16 years and younger. Registration cost the day of the event is $30. Cost for civilians is $30 during early-bird registration and $40 the day of the event.
