All-Region picks for spring sports announced
Richmond Hill placed several players on their respective All-Region teams in Region 2-AAAAAA for tennis and soccer after all four teams made it to their respective state tournaments this spring. In girls’ soccer, first-team selections were Grace Kiser, Ruthie Riley, Carly Vargas and Ellie Filamonczuk. Honorable mention went to Bella Martinez.

All-Region baseball teams announcedRichmond Hill and Bryan County both placed several players on their respective All-Region baseball teams this season, including four first-team selections each. First-team in Region 2-AA for the Redskins were Brian Meyer, short stop; Colin Brown, catcher; Gage Hagan, second base; and Cam Smith, outfield. Wildcat track sending 19 to state meetThe Richmond Hill track and field team is sending 19 athletes to the state meet, the most ever in program history. Sectionals were held this past Saturday at Grovetown. The state meet will be May 10-12 in Carrollton.April 30, 2018

Rooker signed by New York JetsRichmond Hill alum Canon Rooker has signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets. Rooker, out of Middle Tennessee State University, hit 14 out of 17 field goal attempts this past season and became the first Blue Raider kicker to hit two or more field goals from 50 yards or longer in the same season. He was seven of seven on kicks from 45 yards and out and was a semi-finalist for the Lou Groza Award, given annually to the nation’s top kicker.April 30, 2018
