The No. 4-ranked Bryan County High School Lady Redskins will play host to Baconton High School from Region 1A in the first round of the state softball playoffs next week.
The two teams will meet in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lady Redskins Field. If the teams split the doubleheader, the best-of-three series will conclude on Thursday. The winner advances to the second round of the state playoffs on Oct. 20-21.
The Lady Redskins advanced to the state tournament with a second place finish in Region 3A.
Bryan County squeezed out a 1-0 win in the first game against the Truetlen County Vikings to face rival Savannah Christian in the championship game. The Raiders won the contest 3-1 in eight innings.
