Kids fishing derby set for June 6

The Richmond Hill Exchange Club will host its 25th annual kids fishing derby from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6, at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery on Highway 144 between the library and Kroger.

The derby is free and open for children ages 15 and younger accompanied by their parents or an adult guardian. Registration is at 8 a.m.
Participants should bring fishing poles equipped and ready to fish, as well as bait. A limited amount of poles and bait will be available for free use.

Hot dogs and Coke products also will be available free of charge.

Trophies for children 12 and younger will be presented in several categories, including most total pounds (limit of 10 fish), and heaviest fish within age groups 6 and younger and 7-12. All children will be eligible for door prizes. A special prize of a family bass-fishing outing to Waterways Township will be awarded to the winners and their families.
