Hendrix Park 14&under Boys Shine During Ball-A-Rama
Game one was a pitcher's dual with only 6 hits allowed in the game. Hendrix Park starter Nicholas Rud pitched a complete game 2-hit shutout to begin the DiamondBacks season. He recorded 6 strikeouts while allowing only two walks. Dylan McCoy provided all the offense that was needed for the win by smacking a solo-homer in the second inning. The DiamondBacks 3rd baseman Cody Griffin shut down an early Pooler rally by snagging a hard-hit ball in the hole at third, and turning an inning-ending double play. McCoy also played stubborn defense at first base by turning a game -ending double play by forcing the runner at first, then throwing out the game-tying runner at the plate. Catcher Mike Ahmay provided solid play behind the plate, and threw out three runners attempting steals, keeping the bases cleared throughout the game. The final score was Hendrix Park 1 and Pooler 0.

Game two of the doubleheader again saw dominant pitching, this time by DiamondBack Chris Ahmay. Ahmay kept a big, hard-hitting Bloomingdale team off the basepaths by working the corners with his precision fastball. He allowed only 4 hits while logging 8 strikeouts in his complete game-pitching debut. The DiamondBacks jumped out to an early lead by putting 4 runs on the board in the first inning. Outfielder Brandon Lyons led a solid offensive charge by getting two hits and two RBI's for the Hendrix Park team. Five other batters scattered hits throughout the game, and recorded a combined 8 steals against the strong arm of the Bloomingdale catcher. Bloomingdale batters rallied in the last inning, loading the bases and sending the winning run to the plate. With two outs, the Bloomingdale hitter ripped what would have been the game-tying hit down the line into right field, but outfielder Jacob McBride quickly fielded the sure double and threw a laser-like strike to second baseman Zach Shinall, who blocked second and applied the game-ending tag an the Bloomingdale runner. The final score was Hendrix Park 6 and Bloomingdale 3.
