TEXAS, OF COURSE The great state of Texas loves high school football. According to Texans, no one knows football better than them, but the kicking game seems to be a little in the air still.

This video comes out of Midland, Texas, where kicker Luis Aranda lined up for an extra point and it did not go as planned. In fact, I don't think any one would have ever predicted what happened.

Aranda's kick wasn't even close. It was a line drive destined to shoot a good three feet below the uprights. Instead, a ref in the middle of the field got drilled in the head with the ball. The ref was dazed, but his colleagues waiting to see if the kick went in or not were even more surprised.

After the ball pelted the ref in the head it then got an extra lift, hit the cross bar and bounced through the uprights. The two refs on each side of the goal post looked at one another and finally signaled that the kick was good.

For those who don't know, football referees are actually considered a part of the field and thus this kick was legal ish.

Regardless, it's probably the most unique thing you'll see in high school football this week, so enjoy.
