Counting down the days to high school football kickoff

High school football season is getting a late start due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but coaches and players at both Bryan County High School and Richmond Hill High School are preparing for season openers.

The Redskins, seen in these photos,  open the season Sept. 4 at home against Butler High School from Augusta.

The Wildcats, meanwhile, open Sept. 11 at Ware County and in preparation are holding a Black and Gold scrimmage at 7 p.m. Friday at Wildcat Stadium. Attendance is limited to 1,000 and tickets are $5 and available online at

No free passes will be admitted and spectators must wear face coverings.

See more about the upcoming football season at both schools in an upcoming issue of Bryan County News.
