Making the most of our time
pastor corner

Just this morning I was thinking about how fast time flies by. I went from doing one thing to doing another and thought to myself, “there went ten minutes”. Of course, the ten minutes add up to hours and then days and then years. I am writing this on a Monday but it seems like last Monday was just yesterday.

No matter what your age is, you are not guaranteed another day; there will be a day for all of us to depart from this world. There are two places in the Bible that address the urgency of what we should do with the rest of our lives. Ephesians 5:16 and Colossians 4:5 puts it this way, “make the most of every opportunity”.

Whether we have one day or many years to live, there are so many ways to make a difference in the world around us.

So, find out where you are gifted and use those talents in order to show love to those around you and to share the God who created love. God is our great example of love in that He sent Jesus, so that mankind could experience forgiveness, peace and eternal life. Another issue concerning time is the fact that if you are still breathing and you haven’t accepted Jesus, then there is time to do so. 2 Peter 3:9 reminds us that “the Lord is... patient toward you, not wishing that any perish, but that all should reach repentance”.
