Letter to the editor: Letter hit nail on the head with regard to ocean

Roy Hubbard’s opinion piece in the Aug. 31 paper was just what is needed to bring to the attention of the public — and most importantly, our elected officials — the perils of seismic testing and off-shore drilling. When will Buddy Carter and Nathan Deal wake up and start representing the people of Georgia rather than special interest groups? Our oceans, as Mr. Hubbard pointed out, are our life. We must protect them.

Editor's Corner: On not suffering (April) fools gladly

I don’t know about y’all, but I feel as though every day is April Fools’ for folks who never know what exactly on God’s green Earth is going on (i.e., me). This past Sunday, I was so confused by all these athletes and celebrities I follow on Instagram wishing their mothers a happy Mothers’ Day until I realized they all had one thing in common--being British.
