Giving off a sweet aroma
pastor corner

The other day I was doing my prayer walk east of Atlanta. I looked up when I smelled this horrible odor.

I noticed that a brand-new trash truck had just passed by me that did look beautiful on the outside. I could only imagine what was on the inside based on the smell.

My mind went to the fact that there are those who appear to be righteous on the outside but are horrible on the inside. They say the right words and go through the right motions just to empress others but whatever they do are only for a show. Under pressure the real them comes through and instead of offering hope they offer despair.

According to scripture, we as believers in Jesus, are told “to spread the Gospel like a sweet perfume” in 2 Corinthians 2:15. In other words, we are to make the gospel attractive by a change on the outside but more importantly a transformation on the inside. The truth of the matter is this: genuine inside transformation does work itself through to the outside.

So, what are others around you experiencing by what they hear and see in you?

What kind of aroma are you dispensing?
