In the book of Deuteronomy 30:15 God tells the children of Israel that He has set before them life and prosperity but also death and destruction.

They were in a position to get to choose and in verse 19 God says the following, “Now choose life, so that you and your children can live.”

What they were choosing was to either follow God and His commandments or to reject them and follow after something else and with both their were consequences.

We in today’s world can either choose life by obeying God’s command to follow His Son Jesus or we can reject Him and again with both their are consequences. We as a nation can submit to God’s authority and the authority of His Word (the Bible)or we can reject them as we are more and more in the practice of doing. Psalm 33:12 reminds us that “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”.

God cannot and will not bless sin. Rather than blessing we can expect judgement if we don’t repent and turn to God.

The great news is that we can turn from our disobedience and God will bless this nation and will help us to be a blessing to the nations around us.
