Wreaths for Warriors Walk will be hosting the 14th annual wreath laying beginning at noon Dec. 19, at Cottrell Field, Fort Stewart.

Due to the ongoing pandemic there will be no formal ceremony this year, just the wreath laying event at Warriors Walk to honor the 469 soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The truck transporting the wreaths will be parked in front of Cottrell Field. Beginning at noon, persons who wish to participate and help honor the 469 fallen soldiers can come and take a wreath and walk out to Warriors Walk and place it at the base of one of the white crêpe myrtle trees.

We will have several family members of the fallen soldiers in attendance. Their loved ones tree will be clearly marked so that a wreath is not placed by someone other than the family member. Please check the tree before you place your wreath.

All persons attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing per CDC guidelines. We will have hand sanitizer available and disposable masks available for those who may forget to bring theirs. This also falls in line with the Fort Stewart mandate on the wearing of masks in public places. There will be no exceptions and we ask that everyone please abide by this rule.

For motorcycle groups who would like to attend as they have in the past, you should meet at Gate 1 registration building beginning at 11 o’clock. At 11:45 motorcycles will be given an MP escort to the parade field and will lineup on 6th Street. Motorcyclist must abide by all Georgia laws and have proper license and clothing attire.
