This year’s Summer Reading Program, Libraries Rock!, is now underway across Bryan County. Both Bryan County libraries will present free Summer Reading Program performances each Wednesday in June at a location outside of the libraries in order to accommodate as many kids and parents as possible.
The Pembroke Public Library shows are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the Bryan County Elementary School Cafeteria, 250 Payne Drive, Pembroke.
The Richmond Hill Library shows are at 2 p.m. Wednesdays at the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church, 9050 Ford Ave., Richmond Hill, with the exception of June 27. Dr. Arvin Scott will be at the Richmond Hill Elementary School Auditorium, 473 Meeks Way, Richmond Hill.
Students of all grades are invited to sign up at the library for the Summer Reading Program and earn free books by completing an age appropriate reading/activity log.
Performers are as follows:
Ron Anglin, magician: June 6
Ron Anglin does not look like a juggler or an acrobat, but with over 6,500 shows experience, no audience can now resist! You will laugh, you will be amazed, but most of all, you will learn tremendously.
Savannah Balloons: June 13
Lynnae Weller of Savannah Balloons says: “If you can imagine it, we can make it!” And she does – telling a story all the while. Come by and see for yourself.
GSU Wildlife Center: June 20
Staff from the Center for Wildlife Education will present a one hour educational and fun wildlife program including reptiles, raptors, creepy crawlers, and bugs.
Dr. Arvin Scott, Drumming for Success: June 27
Dr. Scott has been inspiring and entertaining children for 18 years with hands-on, interactive group drumming. He brings professional quality drums and percussion from Brazil, the Caribbean, African and the USA.
