The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill recently hosted its annual fundraiser virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but was still successful in raising much needed funds to support the civic group’s initiatives to support those in need in our community.

For many years, The Rotary Club has hosted an annual fundraiser where guests enjoy dinner, drinks, dancing, and camaraderie, but this year, participants were asked to join virtually in a raffle for a golf cart, a Green Egg smoker and a cash prize.

“We are grateful to all of our sponsors that made this event a success and to everyone who purchased tickets. Special thanks to Ace Hardware/Royal Golf Carts for providing the golf cart, Plantation Lumber and Hardware for providing the Green Egg and table, and DX Print and Mail for sponsoring the raffle tickets,” said Rotary Club president Alex Tucker. “The most important part of the evening was that vital funds of over $20,000 were raised to help our local community.”

This year, Samantha Fullmer won the golf cart, Audrey Caraway won the Green Egg and table, and Rotarian Bill Eberlein won a $500 cash prize.

$1000 level sponsors included Great Oaks Bank, Henderson law Firm, Pittman Engineering, Coastal EMC, McDonald’s, MacAlJon, and Coastal Endodontics.

$500 level sponsors included Gardner Law Firm, The Suites at Station Exchange, Richmond Hill Pharmacy, Southeastern Bank, Lesley Francis Public Relations, Ladson Law Firm, First Bank of Coastal Georgia, Line-X, Michael Roberts Construction, Ernest Signature Homes, McGee Collins PC, Reflections, ReMax, Bocook Realty, Robbie and Lisa Ward, and Whit Hollowell. $250 level sponsors were FishTales and Crossroads Center.

Rotarians contribute their time, energy and passion to sustainable, long-term projects in local communities across the globe. Rotary Club of Richmond Hill gives back to our community throughout the year with initiatives like the Senior Citizens Programs, educational sponsorships such as the J.D. Gardner Scholarship, good causes like ‘The Matthew Freeman Foundation’ and the Presidents Fund which help our local schools. They also focus on international Rotary initiatives such as Alzheimer’s Research and Polio eradication.
