Savannah, GA — The Junior League of Savannah (JLS) proudly awarded two scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors during its Annual Meeting held on May 5, 2025, as part of its Kids Who Care Scholarship Program. This initiative recognizes local students who demonstrate exceptional volunteerism, leadership, and commitment to community service—core values that reflect the mission of the Junior League.

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

• Bowen Liu, a graduating senior from South Effingham High School, who will attend Stanford University.

• Audrey Garlick, a graduating senior from Richmond Hill High School, who will attend the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Now in its 99th year, the Junior League of Savannah continues to invest in the next generation of change-makers, empowering young people who are making a difference through service and leadership.

“As we prepare to celebrate our Centennial, we are especially proud to honor students like Bowen and Audrey who embody the spirit of giving back and lifting others up,” said Ansley Howze, President of the Junior League of Savannah. “Awarding these scholarships is one of the most meaningful ways we celebrate the close of a remarkable 99th year and look ahead to our next century of impact.”

The Kids Who Care Scholarship Program is one of many community-focused initiatives led by the Junior League of Savannah, a volunteer organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
