Qualifying for the Nov. 7 city elections in Pembroke and Richmond Hill will run from Aug. 21 to 25.
Two seats are up in Richmond Hill. Candidates must be a registered voter, and a resident of the city for at least 12 months.
The qualifying fee is $300. Qualifying will be held at Richmond Hill City Hall during business hours.
All five city council seats and the mayor’s post are up for grabs in Pembroke. The cost is $216 to run for mayor and $144 to run for a council seat. Candidates must file their candidacys with the city clerk at Pembroke City Hall during business hours.
Renewal of a Special Local Option Sales Tax will also be on the ballot. Residents who want to vote in the Nov. 7 election must be registered to vote by Oct. 10.
Early voting begins Oct. 16.
