Vehicle Stop

Sept. 22 – An officer warned a subject that the volume was too loud on his stereo.

 

Harassment/Threats

Sept. 23 – A clerk at Video Central filed a report that a customer was disrespectful and had been disorderly.

Sept. 26 – A complainant stated her husband’s father keeps calling and leaving nasty messages.

 

Stolen Bicycle

Sept. 23 – A complainant on Surrency Street asked the police to be on the lookout for a green and black Mountain bike that had been stolen.

 

Found Property

Sept. 25 – Someone turned in a football helmet to the police.

 

Found Medication

Sept. 26 – Someone turned in a found prescription. It was turned in to Dr. Register’s office.

 

Possible Intruder

Sept. 30 – An officer assisted a county deputy with a possible intruder at a residence on George Edwards Rd. Upon arrival they discovered a glass door was broken. According to the report, it looked as if a bird had flown into the door and broke the glass.

 

Dogs Fighting

Oct. 1 – An officer arrived at a scene on McFadden Place and found four dogs fighting over what appeared to be a cat that was in an animal trap. Animal Control was contacted.

 

Suspicious Person

Oct. 4 – A complainant stated that a subject has been prowling at night and knocking on windows, and wanting inside the residence. The complainant stated she does not want the subject in her residence.

 

Trespassing

Oct. 10 – A complainant stated that a subject has been harassing her for money. She stated that she did not want him around her. The reporting officer advised her to call if the offender returned.

 

Simple Battery

Oct. 11 – A complainant stated her son was assaulted by a school mate.

Nuclear plant's safety discussed at meeting

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will discuss the 2017 safety performance of the Hatch Nuclear Power Plant during an open house from 4-6 p.m. April 24 in Room 171 of the Southeastern Technical College, 3001 East First St., Vidalia. The two-unit Hatch plant is located near Baxley, about 20 miles south of Vidalia, and is operated by Southern Nuclear Operating Co. NRC employees responsible for plant inspections, including the resident inspectors based full-time at the site, will be available to discuss its performance.
