Thunderstorms are expected to sweep across Southeast Georgia this afternoon.
The National Weather Service reports there is a chance some of the storms may become severe.
The service's forecast says a cold front is moving through the area, pushing the storms in front of them.
An alert put out by the Liberty County Emergency Management Agency said the worst time for storms is expected to be between 1 and 8 p.m.
It advises people to monitor http://weather.gov/chs or to listen to NOAA weather radio for the latest forecasts and warnings.
Tornado watches and severe storm warnings have been issued for areas north and west of Coastal Georgia, but our area had only special weather statements covering it.
