Georgia DOT has begun a paving operation with flagmen for temporary lane closures on Highway 119 from Highway 280 in Pembroke to I-16 in Bulloch County. The project began Sunday night.

At this time, work is scheduled nightly from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays, including potential weekend work. The project is expected to be completed within 90 days, weather permitting.

This is a work zone and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this and all work zones. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.

Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.

This 8.1-mile-long resurfacing contract was awarded to Carroll and Carroll Inc. of Savannah in the amount of $1.5 million.
