A Midway woman was killed Wednesday night in a single-car accident in East Liberty County.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Quincy Melvin said Diane Fleming was killed when the 1995 Dodge Avenger she was riding in left the road and struck a culvert, flipping the vehicle several times on Dorchester Village Road shortly before 8 p.m.
A man identified as Frank Minard, of Tybee Island, also was injured in the accident and taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Melvin said. An update on his condition was not available at press time.
When officers arrived, they found Fleming unresponsive on the ground, but could not say whether she had been ejected. She later was pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel at the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
