A single-vehicle accident Tuesday on westbound I-16 in north Bryan County that killed the driver remains under investigation, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Bennie Vincent, 81, of Ellabell died when his vehicle left the roadway on westbound I-16 near mile marker 145 and hit a tree. The GSP said it was raining at the time and road conditions could be a factor in the incident.

Deputies from the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
