Primary runoff is Tuesday
Election generic

The only runoff on Bryan County ballots Tuesday will be that between Georgia Congressional District 1 hopefuls Lisa Ring and Joyce Griggs in the Democratic primary.

Ring, who lives in Richmond Hill, got 46 percent of the vote in the primary in June, while Griggs, a former Army officer and Savannah attorney, received 40.7 percent of the vote.

The winner will face Republican Rep. Buddy Carter, from Pooler, who has held the office since 2015, on Nov. 3 in the general election.

All of the county’s polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to Elections Supervisor Cindy Reynolds. Voters who cast ballots in the primary must vote in the same primary in the runoff, she said.

Early voting ended Friday at the Richmond Hill Recreation Department.
