Plane crash-lands in South Bryan
Pilot suffered minor injuries
Downed plane

A single-engine plane with only the pilot aboard crash-landed Sunday in Bryan County, authorities said.

The pilot, a woman, suffered a few cuts but is otherwise unhurt, Sheriff Mark Crowe said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by federal aviation authorities. The pilot is from Florida and was on her way to Virginia when she developed engine trouble, officials said, and was forced to land. Her identity was not immediately available.

Bryan County Emergency Services Director Freddy Howell said his personnel were dispatched around noon to a report of the downed plane and found it off Highway 144 behind Bryan Neck Baptist Church in a clear cut area.

Lewis Levine contributed to this report.
