Pembroke American Legion post gets photo of namesake
AMERICAN-LEGION0003
Mrs. Carol Duggar with Pembroke American Legion Post 164 Billy Marshall.

Ms. Carol Duggar (left) recently presented the American Legion Post 164 of Pembroke a nice large framed picture of her second cousin, John Duggar, who was killed in action during World War II. When the Post was formed after World War II, the Post members chose Mr. John Duggar as the name of the local Post. The picture was taken at his last stateside base before being shipped to France about 1919. The portrait is hung in a prominent place in the Post home. All veterans are invited to attend Post meetings at 7:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. Duggar presented the photo to Commander Billy Marshall.
