The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday that an autopsy revealed James Michael Bragg died of a gunshot wound during an altercation Friday night on Lincoln Circle in Kilkinney..

The case remains under investigation, according to the GBI, which was called in by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department around midnight Friday.

The release said Bragg, 59, was taken to the GBI’s Coastal Crime Lab in Chatham County for the autopsy Monday. It determined he died from a gunshot wound.

The case is still under investigation and no additional information will be released “at this time,” according to the release.

“At the conclusion of the investigation, the case will be provided to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review,” the release said.
