One person was transported to a local hospital by helicopter this afternoon after a motorcycle-vehicle accident on Highway 144 south of Port Royal Road just past the Richmond Hill city limits.

The person was transported by ambulance to the parking lot in front of Publix where there is an open field large enough to allow the helicopter to land safely.

Highway 144 southbound was backed up to Port Royal Road. No further information is available.
