The Georgia Department of Transportation is conducting temporary east and westbound alternating lane closures this week on Highway 80 in Bryan County.

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday, weather permitting, alternating lane closures will be utilized for roadway construction, according to the DOT. Delays are expected, and motorists should seek alternate routes if possible.

Motorists can access real-time, statewide, route-specific information on accidents, road work, traffic and weather conditions through Georgia 511 — a free phone service. 

By dialing 511, callers also can transfer to operators to 24 hours a day to report incidents or request assistance.
