The following is a statement from the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival committee:

"Due to Hurricane Matthew and the devestation of the Coastal Empire, plans for the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival are currently on hold. A final decision will be made after confirming with local officials tomorrow by 9 a.m."

As the media sponsor of the GOSF, the Bryan County News will post an update as soon as a decision is made.
