A former employee of the city of Richmond Hill apparently has plans to run for office on the Richmond Hill City Council.
A press release issued last week by Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire states that Jan Bass, former community developer/economic planner with Richmond Hill, “plans to continue her public service in the community by seeking office in the upcoming election as a Richmond Hill City Council member.”
The press release was seemingly issued to announce Bass’ new position with the Savannah-based company as director of marketing, but it also goes on to describe her civic and volunteer activities in Richmond Hill.
“Bass has served as a member of the Richmond Hill Exchange Club, where she recently held the position of vice president for the 2010-11 term,” the release states. “She has also served nearly seven years as a cheerleading coach, activity coordinator and member of the Richmond Hill Recreation Association. As a resident of Richmond Hill, she actively participates with the Richmond Hill-Bryan County Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador to promote an entrepreneur-friendly community.”
“My experience leads me to believe that it is time for a new generation of leaders to step up and lead within my community,” Bass says in the release.
