The 21st annual Bryan County Children’s Empty Stocking Fund is taking applications through Nov. 17 for children who otherwise would not receive gifts for Christmas.

The program was started in 1996 by Mary Stafford and the Bryan County News. It is administered by Bryan County Family Connection Director Wendy Sims and funded through donations and fundraisers by individuals, local businesses, civic groups, schools and churches.

Last year, the Bryan County Children’s Empty Stocking Fund provided gifts for 602 children across the county.

For more information on applications to be a receipient or to make donations, call the Bryan County Family Connection office in Pembroke at 653-3824 or in Richmond Hill at 459-9901.
